Multiple award-winning author Charles Carr has written and edited several thousand newspaper articles, magazine stories and columns for many publications. He pens weekly columns for The Californian and San Diego's North County Times newspapers.

Carr has also written and/or directed many of his own stage plays. He was commissioned to write the Escondido Arts Partnership/ Municipal Gallery's first live theater event. The play, All the Time in the World, garnered broad acclaim by audiences and critics alike (comments on website). The drama/ mystery was also

performed at the Maxine Theater's Staples Center to benefit disaster relief in San Diego's North County. Over six shows, the production grossed nearly $10,000. More about All the Time in the World.

Carr was also commissioned to adapt and direct the beloved Dickens classic, A Christmas Carol. Titled Mr. Scrooge & Mr. Dickens, the play was performed in 2010 to sold out audiences with all proceeds benefitting Patio Playhouse Theater. In 2011 Mr. Scrooge & Mr. Dickens again played to packed houses as part of the Poway Performing Arts Company's (PowPAC) regular season. Visit Mr. Scrooge & Mr. Dickens.

Carr and others looking for ways to help non-profit arts organizations struggling in difficult economic times, have founded Arts for the Arts. The not-for-profit group has already raised thousands of dollars for various beneficiaries. Arts for the Arts members do not receive monetarycompensation for their time and talent, including Carr's own commissions and royalties. More info here.

In the 1990s, Charles created the virtual reality program 3DHouse, a complete inside-and-out tour of his family's log home in Southern California. The program enjoyed tens of thousands of shareware downloads on all major portals. He also sold the rights to Radio Shack and Egghead Software. Although primitive by today's standards, 3DHouse was one of the first virtual reality programs ever created and has

since been featured in many books and articles about VR. His success with 3DHouse eventually led to Carr becoming News and Reviews Editor at ComputorEdge Magazine—for over a quarter century the nation's largest regional computer publication—where he has managed the weekly column Worldwide News and Product Reviews and written hundreds of columns and feature articles.

A professional musician for more than 15 years, Carr's guitar playing has been featured on many recordings. He toured both in and out of the country before settling down in San Diego's North County with his wife, Marsi, and their two children. He has repeatedly taken top honors in San Diego Songwriter's Guild competitions for his original musical compositions.

Carr has won many writing accolades, including San Diego Press Club awards for Best Column Writing, Consumer Writing, and Best Arts and Entertainment. He also edits stories and articles written by others for major national publications.

Charles has been a contributor and technical advisor to L.A. and San Diego Parent magazines and receives dozens of requests each year to appear on Southern California television and radio stations to talk about important events. He also speaks from time-to-time to high schools and organizations about his eclectic life in the arts.

Charles has also served as adult supervisor and creative adviser for the multiple award-winning original films Boy on the Moon (iVIE first place, Fallbrook Film Festival finalist), Sins of the Father (iVIE first place, VCTV Film of the Year) and Mystery High (iVIE, VCTV Storyteller of the Year, Fallbrook Film Festival finalist), and the full-length original stage play Auditioning Truths and Lies, which has been performed professionally at venues throughout Southern California.

Carr is currently producing the 2012 Fallbrook Film Festival Red Carpet event. He will soon publish What a World, a collection of writings.
